Akshay Kumar, a Bollywood star, has put an end to the controversy surrounding his Canadian citizenship. The actor shared a photo of the documents confirming his citizenship to India. The document, which was issued by the Indian government, states: "This is to confirm that the individual whose particulars are given below has been registered as a citizen of India...

Akshay has already discussed his choice to give up his Canadian passport. "To me, India is everything... Everything I have acquired and gained comes from this place. And I'm lucky to have the opportunity to return the favour.

The actor is referred to as Akshay Hariom Bhatia in the official documents, while Brijmohan Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia are listed as his parents. Even though he was born in Delhi, his prior citizenship was listed as Canadian.

"Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani," Akshay captioned the image. Happy Fourth of July! Jai Hind, please. Fans of the actor applauded him on obtaining Indian citizenship as he announced the news.

Akshay has already spoken with others about deciding to renounce his Canadian passport. "India is everything to me. Everything I have and everything I will ever have comes from this country. And I'm fortunate to have the chance to repay the courtesy.

Back in the 1990s, when his 15 films suffered a string of box office failures, Akshay Kumar had submitted an application for citizenship in Canada. "Bhai, my films aren't working and one has to work," I reasoned. I visited on business. Come here, my buddy, who is in Canada, said. I applied, and was accepted. I only had two films left to be released, and it was pure chance that both of them were huge successes. Go back and resume working, said a buddy of mine. I continued to receive more films and jobs. I neglected to use my passport. I never considered changing my passport, but I have now submitted an application to do so, he stated.
